About the Programs

Overview:

The Early Childhood Education Center provides an age and developmentally-appropriate learning environment where children develop cognitive, social, emotional, and language skills with children in their age group. Students in our preschool and transitional kindergarten programs progress through a developmental continuum building cognitive, social, emotional, and language skills for lifelong learning. 

California State Preschool Program (CSPP)

California’s State Preschool income-eligible program is a state-funded program serving 3 and 4-year-old children. CSPP classrooms are designed to enhance the child’s learning experience and build a solid foundation for the child’s educational journey while strengthening skills and interests of each child in a safe and welcoming environment. 

Classes are in session three hours per day, Monday through Friday.

Special Education Preschool Program

The special education preschool program provides early intervention for 3 and 4-year-old learners with many disabilities, including developmental delays, hearing impairments, vision impairments, motor impairments, autism, and multiple disabilities. Student eligibility is based on the results of evaluations completed by the assessment team or based on a current Individual Education Plan. Enrolled students attend class 3 hours per day, Monday through Thursday. 

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Program

Transitional kindergarten is the bridge between preschool and kindergarten for children whose fifth birthdays are between Sept. 2 and April 2. It gives young learners a head start and provides them with an opportunity to learn in an enriching and developmentally appropriate environment that nurtures their growth. Classes are in session six hours daily, Monday - Friday (Wednesday 1:08 release).
